DEVELOPMENT OF THE GARDEN

In February 2008 The District Allotments Federation  kindly donated  5 allotments (1200sq ms) at their Gibson Lane Kippax site, for the use of this project for the next 25+ years.  The intention is to build a garden that will accommodate  persons with special needs and where necessary their carers.

PHASE 1 STARTED IN SPRING 2008

The first major project was to dig over the plot and this work was done by groups of volunteers from several Law Firms in Leeds <

Addleshaw Goddard,PricewaterhouseCoooper,Eversheds, Hammonds and University of Leeds Law Dept.

Work started on the development of raised beds, ground levelling and provison of flagged paths for wheel chair access. Enilow Engineering are the Contractors and the work is being funded by Caird Bardon through Grantscape

The Next phase involves a Comfort Block funded by Barclays Bank and a Summer House financed by Zurich Insurance
